Accessibility

Everyone deserves a clear path forward. That includes how the site itself works.

01

Our commitment

Veterans Driving School is built to be usable by every driver, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, captions, or reduced motion. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA across the website and the course platform.

02

What we do

Semantic HTML with proper headings, landmarks, and labels so assistive technology can navigate the site and the course.

Full keyboard access with visible focus states on every interactive element.

Color contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG AA on text and controls.

Audio narration on every lesson, with the same content available as on-screen text.

Respect for your system's reduced-motion setting. Animations are turned off when you ask for that.

A mobile-first layout that works with screen magnification and on small screens.

03

Course-specific accommodations

Virginia requires a minimum instruction time and identity verification during the course. Those requirements apply to every student, but how you meet them can be adapted. If you need extra time on quizzes or the final exam, an alternative to a timed segment, or help with the identity verification step, contact us before you begin and we will set it up.

04

Known limitations

Some third-party services we use, such as payment processing, are outside our direct control. We choose providers that publish their own accessibility commitments and will help you complete any step that is difficult.

The course platform is still in development ahead of DMV approval. We test accessibility as part of every release and will update this page as the platform launches.

Feedback

If any part of the site or a course is difficult to use, tell us. Email info@veteransdrivingschool.com with a description of the problem and, if possible, the page and the device or assistive technology you were using. We respond within one business day and treat accessibility issues as a priority.
